Microsoft has introduced an AI-backed ‘Voice Clarity’ feature to its Windows 11 operating system. The feature, which was previously only available on Microsoft Surface devices, uses complex AI models to enhance the audio experience by canceling echo, suppressing background noise, and reducing reverberation in real-time. It is enabled by default and can be utilized by applications using Communications Signal Processing Mode. No additional hardware is required, as the feature is supported on x64 and Arm64 CPUs. The Voice Clarity feature will be especially helpful for users who frequently engage in online meetings and will also enhance the audio experience for PC games that use online communication. In addition to the Voice Clarity feature, the latest Canary build of Windows 11 brings in other new features, including the ability to access recent photos and screenshots taken from Android devices in the Snipping Tool and support for the latest generation USB standard, USB 80Gbps, on select devices running on Intel Core 14th Gen HX-series mobile processors.
